I am a LPC-A working in Frisco/Allen Texas and a wife and mother of 4 children whom I love on most days. Nursing was my first career, so it won’t surprise you that I have a passion for blending mental health and physical health. I believe we can alter our perception of life regardless of the actual circumstances we find ourselves. I also believe that most of us have had experiences in life that continue to alter our way of living. Traumatic, confusing, overwhelming, and frightening events do not simply fade away. You may no longer be conscious of how they affect you, but they do. Possibly in the form of headaches, chronic stomach and GI problems, emotional instability, hyper-vigilance, having a “short-fuse”, or relationship concerns. When your body has a strong emotional reaction and your head can’t make sense of why, you are being triggered by unprocessed emotions from your past. When your reaction does not seem appropriate to the situation at hand, it may be time to consider talking with a therapist who is trained in EMDR therapy. I strive first and foremost to be a safe person for you to risk sharing your concerns with. While much of what brings a person to seek counseling can be heavy, I aim to infuse humor and laughter when possible. Life is all too short. My goal is to help you live the life you love and love the life you live. I’m here to help you make the positive changes you desire so that you AND future generations will reap the rewards.
