Identifying when clients are ready and have the regulation skills for processing their trauma can be difficult. This training provides a structured step-by-step to method to gather a thorough history and preparation method for getting clients ready for processing traumatic experiences in therapy.

This live 4-hour webinar course is filled with an easy instructional guide including live demonstrations, sample forms, and practical strategies for in-session exercises and client homework exercises to help with regulation.

By the end of the course, you will have a step-by-step guide for introducing a therapeutic treatment modality to clients, assessing client readiness for processing traumatic experiences, and client preparation with regulation skills. Treatment planning techniques are shown for sequencing of processing traumatic experiences. I’ll show you stabilization exercises to help clients build skills in their ego strength and affect tolerance. New methods for the use of guided imagery are included with live demonstrations and scripted handouts.

Forms, client exercises, and a quick reference guide are included with the training. Join me in this training, and let me show you an easy step-by-step method to properly prepare your clients for trauma therapy.

Amanda Martin
Amanda Martin, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC, BCN, Eagala MH graduated from Texas Woman’s University and is a native Texan. She specializes in working with people and families with trauma histories in residential and outpatient settings. She has a Ph.D. in Family Therapy and has the following licenses: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified in Neurofeedback, and Mental Health Eagala Professional. Amanda is EMDR Certified, an Approved EMDR Consultant, an EMDR Trainer, and a CompassionWorks Lead Trainer.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellation is more than 14 days prior to the workshop start date then full refund of amount paid minus a $35 dollar administrative fee is given.
  • If cancellation is between 4-14 days before the workshop start date then no refund is given but we can apply the amount paid minus a $35 fee to another training or workshop.
  • If cancellation is 3 days or less prior to the workshop start date then no refund is given but we can apply the amount minus half to another training or workshop.

Continuing Education 

Four (4) continuing education (CE) credits for Texas LPC, LCSW, and MFT mental health professionals and are provided by CompassionWorks at no additional charge.

Continuing Education (CE) credits are also provided through CE-Classes for those needing credits for licenses outside of Texas.  These are included in the registration price.

Dr. Amber Quaranta-Leech, LPC-S

Amber holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Texas and Oklahoma and holds Supervisor credential for Texas. Amber is an EMDRIA consultant and trainer. She has over a decade of experience in the trauma field in work with uniformed services, domestic violence, childhood trauma and abuse, and recent mass trauma events. Amber provides consultation for EMDRIA certification, for consultants-in-training, and supervision for LPC-Associates. Amber continues to research the benefits of EMDR therapy with a variety of populations. Her goal is to help build strong clinicians who are well versed in trauma interventions to better support their clients. Amber sees a limited number of clients with a focus on trauma work, she is also a Certified Career Counselor and Certified through EAGALA to provide equine-assisted therapy. 

Dr. Jose Carbajal, LCSW

Dr. Jose Carbajal, a U.S. Army veteran, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work and a master’s in theological studies from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. With over 15 years of clinical experience and extensive teaching experience, Jose specializes in trauma, sexual abuse recovery, domestic violence, and substance abuse. His research focuses on trauma interventions, neuroscience, and faith. He is EMDR Certified, an Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Approved Trainer, with numerous publications and professional presentations to his name.

Amanda Martin holds a PhD in Family Therapy and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. With over 14 years of experience, she specializes in trauma therapy for individuals and families in residential and outpatient settings. Amanda also provides supervision for EMDR certification, EMDR consultants-in-training, and LMFT-Associates. Her mission is to help people find a healthy, joyful, and fulfilling path in life. Her warm, supportive, and interactive counseling style incorporates Symbolic Experiential Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, HeartMath, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Neurofeedback, and Collaborative Problem Solving.
