This is a LIVE, In-Person EMDRIA Approved Workshop

Presented by Brittne Lee, Clinical Psychotherapist, this EMDR course will help you understand the importance of client safety in EMDR and how to use the Window of Tolerance in assessing client readiness. You will learn how to address avoidance/resistance in EMDR and use the Level of Urge to Avoid method with clients and understand how to recognize stuck points and strategies to apply with clients.

Learning Objectives

  • Examine the importance of client safety in EMDR
  • Use the Window of Tolerance in assessing client's readiness
  • Evaluate how to address avoidance/resistance in EMDR
  • Use the Level of Urge to Avoid method with clients
  • Recognize stuck points and apply two strategies to clients
  • Observance of client's verbal/non-verbal cues
  • Efficient target sequencing and treatment planning with client's

In this engaging workshop, topics and skills will be presented not as a lecture but as an interactive discussion between participants, utilizing client examples and case studies. Topics include determining client safety, and client readiness from a Window of Tolerance perspective, addressing avoidance and resistance, navigating through stuck points, and when modifications to standard protocol are needed.

Participants are welcome to bring difficult cases into the discussion and learn how to directly apply new concepts and skills.

Meet Brittne

Brittne Lee graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in 2009 with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. She lives in Perth, Western Australia, and is a Registered Clinical Psychotherapist in private practice. She received her EMDR training in Texas in 2009 and has worked with adults, adolescents, and children. She has been an EMDRIA Consultant since 2017 and previously an EMDRIA Approved Trainer working with numerous clinicians over the years in fine-tuning their EMDR skills.

Brittne specializes in complex trauma and dissociation but has worked with a variety of other issues including addiction, mood disorders, chronic pain, eating disorders, and grief/loss.

Her worldly experience as a clinician working in three different countries, her extensive
knowledge in using EMDR with various populations and her friendly disposition helps bring together concepts and knowledge into a cohesive whole and easy-to-understand way.

If cancellation is more than 4 days before the workshop start date then a full refund of the amount paid minus a $35 administrative fee is given.

If cancellation is 3 days or less before the workshop start date, no refund is given.

Dr. Amber Quaranta-Leech, LPC-S

Amber holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Texas and Oklahoma and holds Supervisor credential for Texas. Amber is an EMDRIA consultant and trainer. She has over a decade of experience in the trauma field in work with uniformed services, domestic violence, childhood trauma and abuse, and recent mass trauma events. Amber provides consultation for EMDRIA certification, for consultants-in-training, and supervision for LPC-Associates. Amber continues to research the benefits of EMDR therapy with a variety of populations. Her goal is to help build strong clinicians who are well versed in trauma interventions to better support their clients. Amber sees a limited number of clients with a focus on trauma work, she is also a Certified Career Counselor and Certified through EAGALA to provide equine-assisted therapy. 

Dr. Jose Carbajal, LCSW

Dr. Jose Carbajal, a U.S. Army veteran, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work and a master’s in theological studies from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. With over 15 years of clinical experience and extensive teaching experience, Jose specializes in trauma, sexual abuse recovery, domestic violence, and substance abuse. His research focuses on trauma interventions, neuroscience, and faith. He is EMDR Certified, an Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Approved Trainer, with numerous publications and professional presentations to his name.

Dr. Amanda Martin, LMFT-S, LPC, BCN

Amanda Martin holds a PhD in Family Therapy and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. With over 14 years of experience, she specializes in trauma therapy for individuals and families in residential and outpatient settings. Amanda also provides supervision for EMDR certification, EMDR consultants-in-training, and LMFT-Associates. Her mission is to help people find a healthy, joyful, and fulfilling path in life. Her warm, supportive, and interactive counseling style incorporates Symbolic Experiential Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, HeartMath, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Neurofeedback, and Collaborative Problem Solving.
