Created and taught by Amanda Martin, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC is filled with an easy instructional guide including live demonstrations, sample forms, and practical strategies for in-session exercises and client homework exercises.
EMDR therapy is effective and useful to most clients with proper preparation. This training provides a structured and step-by-step method to gather a thorough history and prepare clients for EMDR phases 3-8 in four to five therapy sessions.

This workshop is intended for EMDR Trained Therapists Only

  • Explain a brief overview of AIP Model
  • Explain a step-by-step guide for the client history phase
  • Demonstrate treatment planning technique and sample forms
  • Demonstrate stabilization exercises during Preparation Phase
  • Identify a step-by-step guide for preparation phase

Treatment planning techniques will be shown for the sequencing of targets. Demonstrations of stabilization exercises to help clients build skills in their ego strength and affect tolerance.

New methods for resource development and installation are included with live demonstrations and a scripted handout.

Receive a guide to assist you in gathering adequate information, recognizing client readiness for EMDR, identifying client needs, and creating a treatment plan for EMDR reprocessing.

Amanda Martin

Meet Amanda

Amanda Martin has a Ph.D. in Family Therapy and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and EMDRIA Approved Consultant for EMDR.

She has over 14 years of experience and specializes in working with people and families with trauma histories in residential and outpatient settings. In addition, she provides supervision for EMDR certification and EMDR consultants-in-training and LMFT associates.

Cancellation Policy

If cancellation is more than 4 days prior to the workshop start date then a full refund of the amount paid minus a $35 dollar administrative fee is given.

If cancellation is 3 days or less prior to the workshop start date then no refund is given.

How to Join 

On the day of (March 23, 2024, at 9:00 am CST), you will access the Zoom.us link to the live instruction through the CompassionWorks.com user account you create or log into upon checkout. The workshop will be located under My Courses when you click on your username.

You will need to be able to have a quiet space for participation with your fully functioning computer connected to the internet. Your computer must have full audio and video capabilities. Using a Chrome or Firefox browser is preferred. If you need to attend by smartphone, while not ideal, is also possible. Click here for more information.

Continuing Education

Four (4) continuing education (CE) credits for Texas LPC, LCSW, and MFT mental health professionals and are provided by CompassionWorks at no additional charge.

In this case, CE Classes is the provider of continuing education (CE) credits. The Skill Level is Beginner. “There are no known conflicts of interest for this workshop”. These credits are for Psychologists and Counselors outside of Texas. A total of 4 CEs are available.

Certificates are awarded online after completion of the workshop. Participants print their own certificates after registering at ce-classes.com, entering a keycode, and completing an evaluation form.

Dr. Amber Quaranta-Leech, LPC-S

Amber holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Texas and Oklahoma and holds Supervisor credential for Texas. Amber is an EMDRIA consultant and trainer. She has over a decade of experience in the trauma field in work with uniformed services, domestic violence, childhood trauma and abuse, and recent mass trauma events. Amber provides consultation for EMDRIA certification, for consultants-in-training, and supervision for LPC-Associates. Amber continues to research the benefits of EMDR therapy with a variety of populations. Her goal is to help build strong clinicians who are well versed in trauma interventions to better support their clients. Amber sees a limited number of clients with a focus on trauma work, she is also a Certified Career Counselor and Certified through EAGALA to provide equine-assisted therapy. 

Dr. Jose Carbajal, LCSW

Dr. Jose Carbajal, a U.S. Army veteran, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work and a master’s in theological studies from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. With over 15 years of clinical experience and extensive teaching experience, Jose specializes in trauma, sexual abuse recovery, domestic violence, and substance abuse. His research focuses on trauma interventions, neuroscience, and faith. He is EMDR Certified, an Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Approved Trainer, with numerous publications and professional presentations to his name.

Dr. Amanda Martin, LMFT-S, LPC, BCN

Amanda Martin holds a PhD in Family Therapy and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. With over 14 years of experience, she specializes in trauma therapy for individuals and families in residential and outpatient settings. Amanda also provides supervision for EMDR certification, EMDR consultants-in-training, and LMFT-Associates. Her mission is to help people find a healthy, joyful, and fulfilling path in life.
