This live, online 4-hour, EMDRIA approved, webinar course, created and taught by Amanda Martin, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC is filled with an easy instructional guide including live demonstrations, sample forms, and practical strategies for in-session exercises and client homework exercises.

EMDR therapy is effective and useful to most clients with proper preparation. This training provides a structured and step-by-step method to gather a thorough history and prepare clients for EMDR phases 3-8 in four to five therapy sessions.
Objectives: Describe a step-by-step process for Phases One and Two (History and Preparation) in EMDR to prepare clients for phases 3-8 (Assessment, Desensitization, etc). The training provides a guide to assist therapists with gathering adequate information, recognizing client readiness for EMDR, identifying client needs in preparation phase, and creating a treatment plan for EMDR reprocessing.
Treatment planning techniques will be shown for sequencing of targets. Demonstrations of stabilization exercises to help clients build skills in their ego strength and affect tolerance. New methods for resource development and installation are included with live demonstrations and a scripted handout.
A workbook, forms, and quick reference guide are included with the training.

His research focuses on trauma interventions, neuroscience, and faith. He is EMDR Certified, an Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Approved Trainer, with numerous publications and professional presentations to his name.
Amber holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Texas and Oklahoma and holds Supervisor credential for Texas. Amber is an EMDRIA consultant and trainer. She has over a decade of experience in the trauma field in work with uniformed services, domestic violence, childhood trauma and abuse, and recent mass trauma events.
