This live, online 3-hour, EMDRIA-approved, webinar course, created and taught by Amanda Martin, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC, BCN, and Jose Carbajal, Ph.D., LCSW, and is filled with an easy instructional guide including live demonstrations, sample forms, and practical strategies for in-session exercises and client homework exercises.
This workshop is intended for Licensed (fully licensed and associates) and Pre-Licensed (graduate students) Mental Health Professionals. This workshop is not limited to EMDR trained clinicians, so that non-EMDR trained therapists are welcome. However, this is not a supplemental to an EMDR therapy basic training and only EMDR trained therapists will qualify for EMDR continuing education credits.

EMDR therapy is effective and useful to most clients with proper preparation. This training provides a structured method to summarize recent research on EMDR with Neurodivergent Clients, Integrate clinical adaptations for working with Neurodivergent Clients, Distinguish similarities between PTSD symptoms and Autism, Explain adaptations for EMDR reprocessing, and review video demonstrations of EMDR preparation and protocol.
Objectives: The training provides a guide to assist therapists with gathering adequate information, recognizing neurodivergent client readiness for EMDR, identifying client needs in the preparation phase, and creating a treatment plan for EMDR reprocessing.
Treatment planning techniques will be shown for the sequencing of targets. Demonstrations of stabilization exercises to help clients build skills in their ego strength and affect tolerance. Live demonstrations and a scripted handout include new resource development and installation methods.
Forms and a quick reference guide are included with the training.

Continuing Education
CompassionWorks offers three (3) continuing education (CE) credits for LPCs, social workers, MFTs, psychologists, and other mental health professionals at no additional cost. The certificate of completion serves as your documentation for your state CE credit, if your state licensing board does not require CE program pre-approval.

With over 15 years of clinical experience and extensive teaching experience, Jose specializes in trauma, sexual abuse recovery, domestic violence, and substance abuse. His research focuses on trauma interventions, neuroscience, and faith. He is EMDR Certified, an Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Approved Trainer, with numerous publications and professional presentations to his name.
Amber holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Texas and Oklahoma and holds Supervisor credential for Texas. Amber is an EMDRIA consultant and trainer. She has over a decade of experience in the trauma field in work with uniformed services, domestic violence, childhood trauma and abuse, and recent mass trauma events. Amber provides consultation for EMDRIA certification, for consultants-in-training, and supervision for LPC-Associates. Amber continues to research the benefits of EMDR therapy with a variety of populations. Her goal is to help build strong clinicians who are well versed in trauma interventions to better support their clients. Amber sees a limited number of clients with a focus on trauma work, she is also a Certified Career Counselor and Certified through EAGALA to provide equine-assisted therapy.
