My name is Heather Menasco. I am an LCSW in Texas. I have over 22 years of experience being licensed as a therapist. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies, and I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my Master of Social Work Degree in 2000.
Upon graduation I immediately began practicing in the behavioral health field as a lead counselor for a dual diagnosis program treating both mental illness and addiction. I spent over 13 years working in various capacities of Behavioral Health in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. In addition, I spent over 9 years working with seriously chronically ill clients in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. I assisted these clients with processing grief and loss issues along with therapeutic approaches to adapting to living with chronic disease.
As a licensed therapist, I utilize many different therapy modalities specific to the needs of the client. Some of the most common therapeutic approaches I use are Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My specialties include working with individuals with depression disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, addiction disorders, and those with dual diagnosis disorders. My goal is to work collaboratively with clients to work through their unique issues and obstacles to become the best possible version of themselves.
