“Suffering is having something we don’t want, or wanting something we don’t have”- Elisabeth Elliot. In essence this means everyone has some degree of suffering. Counseling is a safe place to explore your personal story of suffering. It is courageous to extend compassion to yourself, explore how suffering is impacting you, and learn to move through or carry the hardship in a way that does not hold you back from living a life of contentment and connection. If you are here I am assuming there is some amount of pain or discomfort you or a family member are experiencing. It is possible to experience freedom and relief.
In the counseling room we will slow down and look at the system as a whole and your role in it. I am EMDR trained which is a powerful approach in helping you heal from trauma as well as manage and cope with stress and anxiety. I offer Christian counseling and use an integrative approach for those who wish to include Christian faith in their counseling.
I am highly focused on client relationship and believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most sacred places for healing to occur. Outside of the counseling room you will find me spending time with my husband and our three sons. I enjoy coffee and queso and watching movies. I avoid folding laundry until it becomes an absolutely necessity. I have found beauty in the mundane and ordinary in our life and enjoy pursuing connection with those around us.
