How Consultation Call Scheduling Works

Hi Jordan,

I hope this finds you well. I am interested in signing up for an EMDR training, and had a quick question for you. How does the scheduling of the consultation groups work? I know I can for sure do the 2 weekends I’ll be signing up for, but want to ensure I’m available for the groups as well.

Best,

Answer:

I put the schedule up for the consultation calls, usually a week before the training. Typically the calls are at a regular day and time, usually 3 weeks or so apart. We have day time and evening calls available, and usually a Saturday group.

So, for example it might be Tuesdays, 11 am to 1 pm Central time; Thursdays 6 to 8 pm Central time, and/or Saturdays 1 to 3 pm Central time.  These will begin either between the training weekends or after the second weekend and then run about every 3 weeks until the 5 consultation call session are completed.

We’ve always been able to work it out with folks but it important for trainees to realize that this IS part of the training and they may need to adjust their schedule, (for example, moving clients) to accommodate, as well.

Additionally, it is possible to miss a group and then make it up at a different time.   So, if you find a series of consultation calls that fit your schedule, except for a meeting or two, then that may be one to choose and then we find another group or two along the way to work it out.

I do a standing open EMDR Consultation call on most Thursday mornings from 11:30 to 12:30 Central Time and you’re welcome to attend that, either as a make-up, or to get more consultation regarding a challenging client, or whatever.  (The link for that call and if it is going to happen in any particular week is posted in the CompassionWorks EMDR Therapists facebook group on the day of the call, or you can contact me directly.)

If a group is going to be missed, then we ask that Ariel or I be notified at least 24 hours in advance to avoid the $50.00 no show or late cancellation fee.

Thanks,

Jordan
